As an addition to the world of sports diving, many are probably wondering about what cliff diving is about. Well, cliff diving is simply defined as an acrobatic perfecting of jumping and diving into the water from a high cliff.
Being brave enough to go through the rough rocks, the divers take a plunge and jump into the hard-hitting water just to experience the adventure and thrill that would definitely last for a lifetime.
This very sensational sport originated and started from the island of Lana¥i in Hawaii in 1770. The king of the island, King Kahekili demanded that his men jump off the high cliffs and plunge into the water without any splash just to prove their loyalty and courage. After many centuries, this sensational activity has expanded and transformed into a sport that is now marked by immense focus, courage, risk and thrill.
Cliff diving requires an extensive training and a good technical education before one finally takes the first leap. Apart the self confidence, courage, and extraordinary physical control, the ability to make and handle quick decisions is also a must for cliff diving.
Uncompromising focus, unrelenting courage and the good ability to make important and crucial decisions in a matter of seconds are necessary for one to become a successful cliff diver.
